Smith & Bresson Club

Smith & Bresson Club
Smith & Bresson Club - I was inspired to create the Smith & Bresson Club for photography by the Pope and Young Club, which is for bowhunters. There are certain requirements, which a bow kill needs to satisfy in order to qualify for acceptance in the Pope and Young Club. The criteria to be accepted in the Smith & Bresson club will be based on my own subjective view of my work, which I will score. In short, those photographs that are part of this club will be my best work and those pieces, which would be part of an exhibition. Any photos that meet this criteria, will be marked by a small skull icon. iPhone

'iPhone' - 2014                                                                                                                                                                   snake

LEFT EYE DOMINANT.  In 2014, I began to shoot my bow left handed, being naturally right handed.  Since I am left eye dominant, I would have to close my left eye to focus with my right so I could hit my target with an arrow.  Now, I am able to shoot with both eyes open since my dominant left eye focuses on the target but, I must now coordinate my arms, body, to shoot my bow left handed.

I photograph, looking through the viewfinder with my left eye.  All my photographs in 2014 and into the future will be taken since I have begun shooting my bow left handed.  I hope my hand/eye coordination with respect to archery transcends into my picture taking and some manner of growth or perhaps a new perspective of photographing will be evident.
