Smith & Bresson Club
Smith & Bresson Club - I was inspired to create the Smith & Bresson Club for photography by the Pope and Young Club, which is for bowhunters. There are certain requirements, which a bow kill needs to satisfy in order to qualify for acceptance in the Pope and Young Club. The criteria to be accepted in the Smith & Bresson club will be based on my own subjective view of my work, which I will score. In short, those photographs that are part of this club will be my best work and those pieces, which would be part of an exhibition. Any photos that meet this criteria, will be marked by a small skull icon. Bowhunters truly dislike poachers. Poachers will cheat to kill a deer, going
outside the rules of fair-chase which are written by local lawmakers for their
departments of conservation. Poachers
are, simply put, an arrogant bunch, completely disregarding the laws and
regulations of a higher authority and acting on their own selfish desires.
While out photographing, I came upon the man in the pieces
titled Pedomazema 1 & 2. He was sitting on the side of the road
waiting for a ride and allowed me to take his picture. As I was photographing,
he began to tell me of his brother, who was taken by the communists during the Greek
civil war in the late 1940’s. The operation was called ‘to pedomazema’ or ‘the
gathering of children’. During this operation, children were taken from
families …voluntarily or involuntarily. They were removed to nations behind the
Soviet iron curtain (such as Romania, where this man’s brother was taken) and
re-educated as young communists, never to return home again. This man wept, as
he told me that he hadn’t seen his brother since he was scooped up those many
years ago.
Communists (international socialists) or their left wing cousins…fascists (national socialists) are no more
than poachers. They invent their own laws of nature to fulfill their ‘deer tags’
… or ideologies.
