Smith & Bresson Club

Smith & Bresson Club
Smith & Bresson Club - I was inspired to create the Smith & Bresson Club for photography by the Pope and Young Club, which is for bowhunters. There are certain requirements, which a bow kill needs to satisfy in order to qualify for acceptance in the Pope and Young Club. The criteria to be accepted in the Smith & Bresson club will be based on my own subjective view of my work, which I will score. In short, those photographs that are part of this club will be my best work and those pieces, which would be part of an exhibition. Any photos that meet this criteria, will be marked by a small skull icon. Mad

'Mad' - 1986                                                                                                                                                                       snake
Getting close to a whitetail deer while bow hunting is an incredible experience.  Because of the hunting areas I am able to hunt, my shots are usually no more than 15 yards, but more often less than 10 yards.  Being that close to the animal you are hunting and sending an arrow off is a feeling that must be experienced, written words cannot not fully capture the occurrence.

Photographing a stranger up close can have many effects.  Many people become angry at the invasion of their personal space.  Some become violent.  Some  are apathetic while some invite it.   This woman, while the captured moment shows her as somewhat angry, was amused and began laughing that I would photograph her.
