Deer hunting season is just a few weeks in autumn but
bowhunters spend most of their year honing their craft, fine tuning their
equipment, planning their strategy…obsessively preparing. Arrows must fly true
and the hand-to-eye technique of shooting must be intuitive so that the archer
may hit his mark with the greatest precision.
July 29, 2012 was my last post on this blog because my
season is over. Sometimes things can happen to interrupt a hunting season. In
this case, it was a family emergency which required my immediate attention. However,
this is just a temporary condition and my season will begin again, in the early
dawn, on August 8, 2012. Until then, I will be sharpening my Leitz Summicron
lenses, just as a bowhunter anxiously sharpens his broadheads, as I anticipate the
imminence of opening day.
