'Bachelor Group' - 2015 snake |
When early spring arrives and as does begin the process of birthing, male whitetails come together and form little bachelor groups, usually between 3-6 in a group. These bucks will stay together throughout the spring and summer and into the fall, when they finally begin to ready themselves for the upcoming mating season. Their testosterone levels rise, transforming their bodies into combat machines and the groups break up. Each buck becomes solitary, sparring and fighting with others to rise of the pecking order to fertilize as many does as possible. So in the spring, they lie around, watch some TV together and drink a few brewskies. Once autumn sets in, it's every man for himself, the bachelor groups break up and they compete for the best looking babes.
