Smith & Bresson Club

Smith & Bresson Club - I was inspired to create the Smith & Bresson Club for photography by the Pope and Young Club, which is for bowhunters. There are certain requirements, which a bow kill needs to satisfy in order to qualify for acceptance in the Pope and Young Club. The criteria to be accepted in the Smith & Bresson club will be based on my own subjective view of my work, which I will score. In short, those photographs that are part of this club will be my best work and those pieces, which would be part of an exhibition. Any photos that meet this criteria, will be marked by a small skull icon. Hardwoods

'Hardwoods' - 1986 snake

Bowhunting the Hardwoods. Leafless deciduous tress of mid to late November offer bowhunters great opportunities for success. Most of the trees have become leafless and although it is easier to see the whitetails through the maze of branches and and trunks, they are naturally camouflaged and blend in perfectly into any surroundings, such as hardwoods.

There are two 'whitetails' in these 'leafless woods'.

Equal But Opposite Forces

Shooting a bow. To shoot a bow, your bow hand firmly grips the bow handle with out torquing the bow to either side. The string is pulled back as the bow hand pushes forward, in synchrinicity, and once the string hand finds the anchor point, the string is released while the bow hand stays motionless, pointing at the target until the arrow hits.

Lone Cross

'Lone Cross' - 1986 snake

The Matriarch of the Woods. An old whitetail doe that has survived a few years, a few hunting seasons, a few winters has learned the ways of the woods and has successfully dodged predators and has always been just out of bow range. She has fawned many offspring and have taught them to be just as a cagey whitetail as she. I love seeing this deer too far for my arrow. The beautiful matriarch.
